Datpro began trading in April 2001, launched by its founders, Barrie Goehler & Bernie Brooks in response to the introduction of the Data Protection Act.

The act included personal data collected through CCTV surveillance systems and made it necessary for businesses with such systems operating to make a record of that data and keep those records up-to-date at all times.
Today, Bernie Brooks is still at its helm, continuing to provide expert advice, in both obtaining and maintaining compliance within the UK Law which has become increasingly complex over time involving the technologies used in CCTV, ANPR, BWC and EACS.Barrie is still involved in a supportive role at Datpro even after retiring in 2018 and still contributes his knowledge and expertise to the company.
